About Us

🌍 Share Our Cause

Every bridge we build—whether it’s clean water at the Osotwa Primary Boarding School in Simanjiro or new boys’ dormitories for Maasai students—is a bridge of hope, solidarity, and shared faith. These are not physical bridges, but connections:

  • between communities and compassion,
  • between resources and real needs,
  • between legacy and new life.

We are currently walking alongside the Sisters of Notre Dame, whose tireless service and spiritual witness inspire and guide this work. Rooted in gratitude and the belief that every person deserves dignity and opportunity, our projects currently serve the vibrant Maasai community and reflect the love that binds us across distance and difference.

You can help us continue this work:

A Letter From Sister Christine Syombua, Delegation Superior

The Sisters of Notre Dame have always entered mission areas with deep respect for local cultures and a desire to serve through education, empowerment, and faith. In places like the Maasai community, it is natural that social change may stir mixed emotions. Some individuals, especially elders or traditional leaders, might initially feel that new initiatives such as girls’ education or modern infrastructure threaten aspects of their cultural identity. Change often brings both hope and hesitation.

However, what stands out is that most members of the Maasai community are beginning to see these developments not as threats, but as blessings. This is the reason why the Maasai people have continued to donate property to the Sisters of Notre Dame. The school offers their daughters and sons a future filled with dignity and opportunity. The well provides clean water that sustains their children, and the community benefits from the fresh vegetables from our farm. These visible signs of care have built trust and gratitude. Over time, the Sisters’ steady presence, respect for the Maasai way of life, and genuine love for the people have transformed doubt into trust and collaboration.

Rather than replacing culture, these initiatives are helping the community to grow from within, to preserve what is beautiful in their heritage while embracing what promotes human dignity and the common good. The Sisters’ mission continues to be a living witness of God’s compassion, where empowerment becomes a shared journey, and hope becomes the bridge between faith and development.

Many greetings to all the members of the Bridges Ministry.

Sr. Christine Syombua, Delegation Superior
